Not my Hard Candy Shell........

So, in really being introspective lately, I have seen a problem in my life. I have a hard candy shell. I understand why I have made this shell. It basically stems from my childhood (cliche, I know.) It has been a protectant to me for long enough. So, I am exclaiming from the rooftops of Salt Lake City, that I am coming out....... (no, not out of the closet, just out of my shell......)

Pleeeeaaaaseee Mr. Postman

I have become obsessed with the Postman - yes, the postman. For the last six weeks, I have waited for test results. Then I waited for letters of reccomendation and now I am waiting to see if I have been accepted into the Master's Program at The University of Utah. Don't get me wrong, I have always loved him in varying degrees. He brings me packages, which, as of late, have contained large amounts of jewelry...... If he only knew.....

My Conversion Story ( I kind of love it!)

So, now that you know that I am LDS, I will tell the story of how that came to be. So, back in the Seventies, my parents had two children and were relatively happy. They thought that they should be raising their children with some religon. My mother was raised devout Catholic and my dad kind of Presbyterian in name. So, they went in search of a church that they both felt comfortable in raising their children in.
They were living in Memphis, Tennessee at the time. They found some church similar to Seventh Day Adventists, and were members for about two years. The only thing was that they believed that if you have more than two children, you are overpopulating the earth. Me - I did not like this - because I knew that I needed to be born in the Drasher clan - as well as Susan, Diana, and David, who were also yet to be born. My mom also wanted to have more kids.
My father was in the Marines and worked with an LDS man who had 7 children. So, my father asked him what his views were about overpopulating the Earth. Being LDS, this theroy was quickly debunked, missionaries were called and discussions were happening rather quickly. ( And yes, babies were created - my mom was pregnant by the time she was baptized.) So, this is how my family came to join the church.

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

Most of you who know me already know that I am LDS (at least I think so). I just want to support Elder Ballard's statement: "The emergence of New Media is facilitating a world-wide conversation on almost every subject including religion...may I ask that you join the conversation by participating on the Internet, particularly the New Media, to share the gospel and to explain in simple and clear terms the message of the Restoration."

"Most of you already know that if you have access to the Internet you can start a blog in minutes and begin sharing what you know to be true."
M. Elder M. Russell Ballard, "Using New Media to Support the Work of the Church." Speech was given at Brigham Young University-Hawaii’s graduation ceremony on December 15, 2007.

I do not know if I know how to bear my testimony in a blog... but then again, a few months ago, I never saw myself as a blogger. So, here are my reasons that I am grateful to be a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints....
1.Families Can Be Together Forever
We believe that Families can truly be together forever by being sealed in the Temple. How grateful I am to know that. This makes how we view our families, especially our spouses so different from the rest of the world.
2. I believe in the Atonement of Jesus Christ. That is that not only was Christ crucified, but that in the Garden of Gethsemene he suffered the pains and the sins of the world. I am grateful, because it takes away the bitterness and the pain that comes in life.
3. The Plan of Salvation. I know that I am a Daughter of God. How powerful that is in making choices in how I will act. The plan of salvation is basically who we are and that we are sons and daughters of a Heavenly Father, who is the Creator of Heaven and Earth. We lived with Him before we came to Earth. We came to Earth to learn to be like Him and we can return to Live with Him.
4. Prayer: I know that anytime, anywhere I can pray to my Heavenly Father, and he hears me. He has heard me.
5. Revelation: not only can I pray to my Heavenly Father, but he speaks to me. Not in an audible voice, but through the Holy Spirit. He also guides his Church through Revelation.
So, this is my short version......I am so grateful to have the Gospel in my life. Would you like to know more? Go to www.LDS.org.

If u really love/like someone right now,
And can't get them out of your head,

Single Sistas Unite

I just wanted to state why I am so glad to be single.....
1. Let's face it - I can go out with a new guy every night if I wanted to.
2. Crushes - I love that new crush euphoria.... it's awesome.
3. When I truly get to know a guy, I do not have to keep him around....
4.I can always call on one of my girlfriends for support....a chick flick...whatever.
5. Freedom - I don't have to report back or check in with anyone.
6. I do not have to make joint decisions.
The list goes on and on........ add your favorite....

Snow White

So, I recently took this quiz to see what Disney character I was most like. Even though I did dress up like Cruella Deville for Halloween, I do not need a quiz to tell me who I am like. I already know! It is Snow White.
Snow White is a beautiful young Princess who, in her efforts to escape the Evil Queen, befriends seven dwarfs.
Her gentle ways and trust allow the Evil Queen to trick her. But her pure, lovable nature also wins her the friendship and protection of the forest animals, the seven dwarfs, and of course - the handsome prince.

Dreaming of Dreaming

So, here I am. It is 3:40 A.M. MST. Am I in bed, tucked under my covers, dreaming? No, I am at work. I work a graveyard shift. It is beneficial for school, because I can study all night. Yet, it changes things in my life. Like this morning, I was in a daze in Target, because I had not slept in like 36 hours. Even when I do go home and sleep, I feel guilty sleeping until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, because I feel like I have slept the day away. That, or someone calls, or the doorbell rings, and wakes me from my peaceful slumber.......

A Charlie Brown Moment

So, as I watched Charlie Brown struggle to express his true feelings to the little red haired girl, I could not help feeling the same way!!! I have liked this guy for a few months, and I can not work up the guts to show him, let alone tell him. I guess Valentine's Day serves it purpose in this way. It is the day to come out of our shells with a little Valentine in hand to show our true feelings!!!!!! May we all share our Valentine's to the one that means the most to us this year! -Pegalie

Where in the World???

I am trying to decide what I should do this summer. I will graduate from the U in the spring, and I need to work during the summer. I will not be in school, so I have the freedom to go anywhere for the summer. My sister has generously offered me her daughter's barbie bed to crash on....in Pennsylvania. I can find a summer nanny position just about anywhere as well. Any suggestions????

Proud Aunt Peggy

I really am just so proud of my nieces and nephews!!!! They are amazing! They grow up so quick! So, if you are not yet and aunt or an uncle, I highly reccomend it!!! Here are the nieces: Leah, Lauren and Brianna and the nephews : Daniel, Kyle, Tristan and Spencer.

Cherie Call (These are a few of my favorite things!)

I love Cherie Call. Whenever I need a pick me up, I just put in her CD. It is not as cheesy as some of my other CD's (all my former roommates have been driven insane by The Goodman Family CD - which I adore!)

I just love all of her music and the message it sends. I work with teenage girls, and I seem to always be quoting some of Cherie's lyrics when talking with them. Here are the lyrics to one of my favorites:

Believe
(Cherie Call)

I've been there and I've seen with those eyes
Green with envy, dark with anger
Or just plain blue
And I know the last thing you really want to hear
Is just what I'm about to tell you
But you have to hear the truth
I know it's stylish to be cynical these days
So there's only one thing left to do

Believe
Sometimes traffic lights are green,
Sometimes people keep their word
In spite of everything you've heard, it's true that
Sometimes nice guys finish first,
Sometimes true love really lasts
Sometimes all the world can change
If only you believe

Still you say the phone rings every time you want to take a bath
Or take a nap, or you just need peace
But tell me this, did you really want to be
So all alone as you are now?
Don't you need a friend who knows
It's in the way you see the glass
Once you know that it's half full, it overflows
Every time that you

Believe
Sometimes Christmases are white,
Sometimes wedding days are clear
Sometimes rain falls right on time
To wash away your tears
Sometimes cornfields touch the sky,
Sometimes sunsets make you cry
Sometimes you see what Jesus sees
When you look in the mirror

And love isn't something that is just for everyone else
It's for you
Believe what I say is true
In spite of all the ways you feel right now
You've got to find out some way somehow to

Believe
Sometimes the good live long,
Sometimes kindness reaches far
Sometimes you hear your favorite song
Right when you get in the car
You don't have to move the sky
But you can chase the clouds away
You don't have to change the world,
But you might do it anyway

Believe
Believe sometimes nice guys finish first
You don't have to change the world,
But you might do it anyway

Ode to Pennsylvania

I was raised in Pennsylvania. In a quiet town called Etters. I have to show my roots - and the results of Groundhog Day!!!! I do not agree. I want warm weather!!!

Valentine's Day -it's almost here!!!!

I am one of the few single people who ADORE Valentine's Day. I love it! It has such a great, loving message for the whole world! What could be sweeter than a valentine (both a person and a card) ?
So, last year to celebrate, I went cake diving. Yep - you heard me - I dived into a huge cake with 96 other women. Prizes were baked in this massive cake. So, here are some pictures of the Cake dive.I did not win the diamond - but there is always next year!!! Happy Valentine's Day!
